There is expected to be an increase in financial fraud and fraudulent transactions as the holiday season draws near. 

Online financial fraud instances have increased significantly, according to The Future Crime Research Foundation (FCRF), a non-profit business connected to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. 

Approximately 77.5% of cybercrimes in India include one-time passwords (OTPs), debit/credit card transactions, QR codes, etc.

Therefore, remember to be cautious when scanning, double-check the source, use a trustworthy QR code scanner software, and double-check the URL to prevent falling for QR code fraud.
