You Can Add Products with Barcode Scanner Using Google Business Profiles
Using a barcode scanner, you can now add products to your business profiles and merchant centers section of Google Business Profiles.
Google will even send you a free barcode scanner, giving you a more effective approach to highlighting in-store items on Google Search & Maps.
Claudia Tomina noticed this lately and said, "GBP has updated their product creation page," in a post on X.
Previously, there was no other choice than to manually add items without barcodes.
Adding items using a "wired scanner" is now possible thanks to a new function that appears to be quite effective and smooth.

According to Google, the Pointy app is now the Local Inventory app and the Pointy box is now the product reader.
Google can automatically add in-store items, which might assist in drawing in local customers to your physical business.
It is easy to use and free of cost.
"There is no cost for using the product reader. Connect it with your barcode scanner and POS system to add your items to Google Maps and Search as you scan them," Google continued.
