A Huntington Beach high school replaced hall passes with QR codes, causing some students to feel concerned. The new policy requires students to scan a QR code before leaving the classroom.

A student stated that he does not want to be informed when or how long he may use the bathrooms, while others are concerned about their privacy being violated.

"I believe they want us to scan in so they can track and see who the kids are going into the restroom and vaping and taking too long," according to him.

According to Principal Daniel Morris, it is not a strict policy but rather guidance for students who need to leave class to use the restroom, nurse, library, or wellness center. He stated that not all teachers had applied it.

In fact, an online petition has received more than 450 signatures. The petition proposes replacing the current restroom regulation with a "more compassionate and health-conscious approach."
