One Emirate In UAE Has Introduced A New QR Code Taxi Booking System
The transportation company Rakta in Ras Al Khaimah has introduced a new system that allows customers to book taxis by scanning QR codes posted across the emirate.
This aligns with the authority's mission of "pioneering in regulating the transportation sector and guaranteeing the provision of safe, smart, and reliable transportation services."
New QR code taxi booking system launched in Ras Al Khaimah
Director of Control and Operation Department Mohamed Hashem Esmaeel verified that this service is special and described the procedure.
After scanning the QR code with their smartphone, customers input their personal information.
The technology then automatically ascertains the customer's location and makes requests to neighboring taxis that are available.
Smart meters that take requests are installed in the taxis. The driver can then reply to it while still in the vehicle.
In order to better serve consumers and enhance the quality of life in the emirate, the pre-order service is now being expanded from its original locations in hospitals and health centers spread throughout the whole emirate.
