Brand Highlights

Shaw Wallace created the original Royal Challenge in India and launched it in the early 1980s. The brand was relaunched with fresh packaging and marketing designed by Ammiratis Puris Lintas in March 2000.

Five years later, Shaw Wallace was acquired by United Spirits Ltd (USL), a company in the Diageo group; however, Shaw Wallace and USL united on April 1, 2008, making Royal Challenge a USL brand.

The Royal Challenge packaging was redesigned by Claessens International, who were engaged by the UB Group in the same month.

At the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America Conference in April 2012, American United Beer & Spirits (UBS) formally debuted Royal Challenge in the United States.
