Numerous businesses drive visitors to their websites using QR codes, but scammers are also taking advantage of this trend, Ventura County officials stated.

Scammers are allegedly utilizing QR codes to steal money and get personal information, according to a warning released by the Ventura County District Attorney's Office.

Sometimes, they create fictitious QR code stickers that direct users to phony websites. All they do is cover the actual code sticker with the fake one.
