Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Why is whiskey so addictive?

Whiskey can be addictive due to its effect on the brain's release of neurotransmitters like dopamine, which produce feelings of pleasure and reward.

Additionally, the high concentration of alcohol in whiskey can lead to physical dependence with frequent consumption.

It's important to consume alcohol in moderation and seek help if struggling with addiction.

2. What do you call a person who loves whiskey?

A person who loves whiskey is commonly known as a whiskey connoisseur or a whiskey enthusiast.

They may also be referred to as a whiskey lover, whiskey aficionado, or whiskey aficionada (if female).

3. What not to eat with whiskey?

When drinking whiskey, it's generally recommended to avoid eating spicy, greasy, or overly sweet foods, as they can overpower or clash with the flavors of the whiskey.

Additionally, it's important to avoid drinking whiskey on an empty stomach, as it can lead to faster absorption of alcohol and increase the risk of intoxication.

It's recommended to eat a meal or snack with protein and complex carbohydrates before drinking whiskey to slow down the absorption of alcohol.

Conclusion

Visiting a good friend abroad soon and want to bring a bottle as a gift. I only really drink bourbon myself so haven't a clue. But looking to pick up something ideally less than 100 euro that you can't get easily abroad. So trying to avoid Jameson etc.

Are they American? If so then you could bring them a bottle of Jameson Crested. They can’t get that in the states and it’s very good in comparison. Otherwise go for Bushmill’s, Connemara Whiskey if you want to give them something unique, or Redbreast

Connemara. Slightly peated though, so not for all tastes. It's only 40 quid.

Jack Daniels is not really good whiskey, so you could mix it with coke

I received a case of Whiskey for Christmas as a gift, but I don't drink Whiskey. Does anyone have any cocktail or mixed drinks recipes (or even cooking/baking recipes) that uses Whiskey? Preferably sweet drinks if possible...
